We are a family-run café, located half a mile from Porthallow, a quiet Cornish fishing village on the Lizard Peninsula.
First opened in 2012, we serve breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea throughout the year from March to December. Our emphasis is on home cooked food and we use our local butcher, bakers and fishermen for produce. Please let us know if we can help you with any dietary requirements. Our café is also licensed.
Booking is advisable. The café seats around 30 covers inside, with a canvas awning outside and lots of picnic benches and deck chairs too! The café offers free WiFi and we are also dog friendly!
Parking is limited, but you can drop off and then park on the beach at Porthallow. It takes about ten minutes to walk up the hill to the café.
Breakfast

A Fat Apples breakfast is the perfect start to the day! We serve a traditional full English and have vegetarian and vegan options. Breakfast sandwiches, yoghurt, and fresh fruit are also available should you be looking for something lighter. Where possible, we use the best local ingredients we can find.
Lavazza coffee is served in cafetieres and a good choice of teas, fresh juice, and alternative milk are also available.
Lunch
Served from 12pm – 2.30pm
There is something for everyone! Homemade burgers, thick hand carved Cornish ham and free-range eggs with sauté potatoes. Fresh from the oven frittatas with local cheese served with our daily selection of fresh, where possible, seasonal salads.
For the little ones we offer “Mini Applers”: sandwiches served with fruit and smaller portions of most things on our main menu.

Our café garden is great for enjoying a cream tea. All our cakes and scones are homemade by the team and we have lashings of cream and ice cream to accompany any of the treats on offer.
We have a good range of teas, Lavazza coffee or perhaps a glass of cold Prosecco!

We are also open on Bank Holiday Mondays in April, May and August.
September - October: Thursday - Sunday, 9:30am - 4pm
November: 1st -2nd, 9:30am - 4pm. Then closed until 28th-30th, 9:30am - 3pm
December: Friday - Sunday, 9:30am - 3pm. Closed from the 15th December.
